Description: The InstantOne™ ELISA is specifically engineered for accurate measurement of total and phosphorylated human STAT5A/B (Tyr694/Tyr699) in cell lysates. Detection of mouse and rat STAT5A/B is expected. The InstantOne™ ELISA kit allows for fast analysis of samples in approximately one hour. All reagents used in a traditional sandwich ELISA are added in solution to a plate followed by a wash step and detection with the TMB colorimetric substrate.
STAT5, which exists as STAT5A and STAT5B, is a member of the Signal Transducers and Activators of Transcription family of transcription factors that are activated via phosphorylation by JAK tyrosine kinases in response to various stimuli, including cytokines and growth factors. STAT5A is activated by phosphorylation at Tyr694, and STAT5B is phosphorylated at Tyr699. STAT5A and STAT5B show differential, cell-specific regulation. STAT5A is expressed predominantly in mammary tissue, while STAT5B is more abundant in muscle and liver tissues. The STAT5 transcription factor plays an integral role in immune cell development and regulation, and is an important mediator of IL-2 and IL-15 signaling in regulatory T cells.
