STAT3 (Total/Phospho) InstantOne™ ELISA

Description: The InstantOne™ ELISA is specifically engineered for accurate measurement of total and phosphorylated human STAT3 in cell lysates. Detection of mouse and rat STAT3 is expected. The InstantOne™ ELISA kit allows for fast analysis of samples in approximately one hour. All reagents used in a traditional sandwich ELISA are added in solution to a plate followed by a wash step and detection with the TMB colorimetric substrate.

STAT3, which exists as STAT3a and STAT3b, is a member of the Signal Transducers and Activators of Transcription family of transcription factors that are activated via phosphorylation by JAK tyrosine kinases of receptor tyrosine kinases in response to various stimuli, including cytokines and growth factors. Phosphorylation at Tyr705 leads to STAT3 dimerization and nuclear translocation. STAT3a, but not STAT3b, is also phosphorylated at Ser727, which enhances its transcriptional activity. STAT3 is believed to be one of the main mediators of IL-6 signaling. Moreover, STAT3 has been linked to cellular activities that are associated with tumor progression. Inhibition of STAT3 results in impaired apoptosis and cell migration, as well as upregulation of genes involved in angiogenesis and immune suppression.
