Description

Description: This AD2.38 monoclonal antibody reacts with human, mouse, and rat Pax6. This 47-kDa transcription factor is expressed during embryonic neurogenesis in the brain and central nervous system, as well as in neuroepithelial cells of the retina. Pax6 is involved in development of the eyes, nose, central nervous system, pancreas, and pituitary gland. Studies also demonstrate that Pax6 is crucial for alpha-cell differentiation and glucagon biosynthesis in the pancreas. Mutation of Pax6 results in eye disorders such as aniridia in humans and Small eye in mice.
