Description: The RMT2-1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse TIM-2, a member of newly identified T cell immunoglobulin domain, mucin-like domain (TIM) gene family. TIM family of proteins are transmembrane proteins expressed by activated T cells. Recent studies demonstrate that the TIM family plays a critical role in immune responses that regulate the development of atopic diseases. Although published data suggested that Sema4A binds to Tim-2, it remains to be definitively shown that these two molecules have a receptor/lignad relation.
