Description

Description: This antibody specifically recognises CD11a, otherwise known as integrin alpha L chain. Clone R7.1 recognises an epitope within the I-domain of CD11a and can be used in neutralization studies.

BMS102 is also suitable as primary antibody in staining for FACS analysis, BMS102FI can be used for direct staining of cells, BMS102BT can be used in a 2-step procedure using the biotin-(strept)avidin system.

CD11a is a 180kDa glycoprotein and member of the integrin family of cell adhesion molecules, which is expressed by all human leukocytes. CD11a combines with the CD18 beta chain (ITGB2) to form lymphocyte function-associated antigen-1 (LFA-1), and binds to its major ligands CD50 (ICAM3), CD54 (ICAM1) and CD102 (ICAM2), acting as a key mediator of cell-cell adhesion processes in normal immune and inflammatory responses.
