Description

Description: The BU15 monoclonal antibody reacts with canine, human, and non-human primate CD11c, the 150 kDa integrin aX chain. CD11c non-covalently associates with beta2 integrin to form the CD11c/CD18 heterodimer. This complex is expressed on monocytes, granulocytes, macrophages, NK, dendritic cells, and subset of T and B lymphocytes. CD11c/CD18 binds to CD54, iC3b and fibrinogen and plays a role in leukocyte adhesive interactions. CD11c also binds complement fragment iC3b to mediate phagocytosis of opsonized particles.

The BU15 antibody has been reported to crossreact to cynomologus monkey. Moreover, this antibody has been reported to exhibit blocking activity. Crossblocking studies suggest that BU15 recognizes a different epitope from clone 3.9.
