Description

Complete activation of a naïve T cell by an antigen-presenting cell (APC) requires signaling via the TCR, but also a separate non-specific ligand-receptor interaction. The latter signal is known as co-stimulation and is absolutely critical not only for inducing the appropriate T-cell response, but for preventing T-cell anergy. In addition to the classic B7-CD28 interaction, this poster illustrates several recently described co-stimulatory pathways which have proved indispensible for T-cell activation including ICOS-ICOS-L, PD-1-PD-L1, and OX40-OX40L. Also displayed is a table outlining important information for each co-stimulatory molecule including function, expression and alternative names. Another table indicates products which are currently offered by eBioscience in support of T-cell co-stimulation research.
