Description

The 33A1293 antibody reacts with human TRAF2. TRAF2 is a 502-amino acid protein involved in cellular resistance to TNF-induced apoptosis. TRAF2-deficient mice appeared normal at birth; however, they die prematurely, probably due to atrophy of thymus, spleen, muscle mass and lack of TRAF2’s cytoprotective role. The 33A1293 antibody was raised against a fusion protein corresponding to amino acids 205-222 of human TRAF2.

For research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. The 33A1293 antibody has been reported for use in immunoblotting (WB).

Applications Tested

The 33A1293 antibody can be used for detection of TRAF2 by Western blotting at 2 μg/ml dilution. HeLa cell lysate can be used as positive control and an approximately 57 kDa band should be detected. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest.
