Questions? Please consult our answers to frequently asked questions at http://www.ebioscience.com/faq. DescriptionThe 16B1 antibody reacts with human CD144, also known as VE-cadherin and cadherin-5. The cadherin family of receptors, which are calcium-dependent adhesion molecules, is known to be involved in homophilic cell interactions. VE-cadherin, which is 140 kDa, is localized at the intercellular boundaries of endothelial cells in blood and lymphatic vessels in several tissues. It is thought to play a role in vascular permeability and remodeling. Applications ReportedFor research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. This 16B1 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis. The Alexa FluorŽ 700 emits at 723 nm and can be excited with the He-Ne 633 laser. Most instruments will require a 685 LP mirror and 710/20 filter. Please make sure that your instrument is capable of detecting this fluorochome. Applications TestedThis 16B1 antibody has been pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells (HUVEC). This can be used at 20 μl (0.5 μg) per 100 μl blood (or per 1 million cells in 100 μl total staining volume). References
