Description
The eBio8.48 monoclonal antibody reacts with Vβ10 in mice carrying the Vβ
a haplotype of the TCR β chain. The majority of T cells express a TCR composed of a β chain and α chain, both of which are produced by a series of somatic DNA rearrangement events which join V, D and J segments, or in the case of TCR α, just V and J segments, to a TCR constant region. Murine TCR polymorphisms have been defined for Vβ as well as Vα genes based on RFLP analyses which has divided mouse strains into three Vβ haplotypes (Vβ
a, Vβ
b and Vβ
c), and at least four Vα haplotypes. While most mouse strains carry the Vβ
b haplotype, strains that are known to carry the Vβ
a haplotype include SWR, SJL, C57L, and C57BR mice.
Applications Reported
For research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. This eBio8.48 (8.48) antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested
This eBio8.48 (8.48) antibody has been tested by flow cytometric analysis of SJL mouse splenocytes. This can be used at less than or equal to 1 μg per million cells in a 100 μl total staining volume. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest.
