Description

The eBio1D4B monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD107a, also known as lysosome-associated membrane protein-1 (LAMP-1). CD107a is a type I, integral lysosomal membrane protein expressed constitutively at high levels by all cells. The majority of CD107a is localised to the limiting membrane of late endosomes-lysosomes, and LAMP-1 and LAMP-2 contribute approximately 50% of all lysosomal membrane protein. CD107a consists of an extensively glycosylated lumenal domain, a transmembrane domain and a short cytoplasmic tail. LAMP-1 deficient mice are viable and fertile, however mice deficient in both LAMP-1 and LAMP-2 have an embryonic lethal phenotype. LAMP-1 has been implicated in a variety of cellular functions, including cancer metastasis, and is a marker for lysosomal storage disorders.

Applications Reported

For research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. This eBio1D4B (1D4B) antibody has been reported for use in intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested

This eBio1D4B (1D4B) antibody has been tested by intracellular staining and flow cytometric analysis of thioglycolate-induced peritoneal exudate cells. This can be used at less than or equal to 0.25 μg per million cells in a 100 μl total staining volume. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest.
