Questions? Please consult our answers to frequently asked questions at http://www.ebioscience.com/faq. DescriptionHuman IL-5 (also known as BCGF and BCDF) is a ~40 kDa factor produced mainly by T cells. IL-5 is present as an N-glycosylated homodimer and is a hematopoietic growth factor promoting proliferation, activation and differentiation of eosinophil granulocytes. In the human, IL-5 also supports generation of cytotoxic T cells. In the mouse, IL-5 acts on B cells to induce proliferation and secretion of IgM and IgA from endotoxin activated B cells. Applications ReportedFor research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. Recombinant human IL-5 is biologically active. The intended use of the Recombinant Human IL-5 Single-Use ELISA RSG Standard is as a standard for human IL-5 Ready-SET-Go! ELISA and human IL-5 matched antibody pair ELISA. Typically the standard is run in a series of 7 doubling dilutions from the ‘top’ standard described below. Instructions for use: For Ready-SET-Go! ELISA Set (TMB substrate). Dilution: Add 5 ul of standard solution to 10 ml of assay diluent to prepare the top standard solution (500 pg/ml). For matched antibody pair ELISA (ABTS or Super AquaBlue substrate). Dilution: Add 5 ul of standard solution to 10 ml of assay diluent to prepare the top standard solution (500 pg/ml). Note: These are single-use vials. Use one time and discard. Dilute as suggested above, not difficult-to-measure fractions of the suggested volumes (e.g., not 0.5 ul in 1.0 ml) or recovery may not be accurate. Use within 6 hours of dilution to top standard concentration. Applications TestedThis cytokine standard has been calibrated, and subsequently tested by sandwich ELISA using the human IL-5 ELISA pair (TRFK5/JES1-5A10). |
