Questions? Please consult our answers to frequently asked questions at http://www.ebioscience.com/faq. DescriptionThe RPA-T4 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD4, a 59 kDa cell surface receptor expressed by a majority of thymocytes, subpopulation of mature T cells (T-helper cells) and in low levels on monocytes. CD4 is a receptor for the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). RPA-T4 blocks HIV binding and mixed lymphocyte reaction. The RPA-T4 antibody recognizes a different epitope than the OKT4 monoclonal antibody, and these antibodies do not cross-block binding to each other's respective epitopes. Applications ReportedFor research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. This RPA-T4 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis. The photo-emission properties and compensation required for Alexa FluorŽ 750 are similar to APC-Cy7; however Alexa FluorŽ 750 has several advantages when compared to APC-Cy7. The Alexa FluorŽ 750 has peak emission of 779 nm, and usually has a slightly higher mean fluorescent intensity when compared to the same clone conjugated with APC-Cy7, which has peak emission of 767 nm. Furthermore, Alexa FluorŽ 750 is considered to be a more photostable fluorochrome as compared with APC-Cy7. It is advised not to use fixatives with Alexa FluorŽ 750 as this may lead to degradation of the fluorochrome and loss of staining. Applications TestedThis RPA-T4 antibody has been pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of human peripheral blood leukocytes. This can be used at 20 μl (0.5 μg) per 100 μl blood (or per 1 million cells in 100 μl total staining volume). References
