Description
The avidin horseradish peroxidase is commonly used as a second step for detection of biotinylated antibodies by ELISA and immunohistochemical staining. Avidin binds to biotin with high affinity. [Note: Sodium azide is an inhibitor of horseradish peroxidase enzymatic activity and should not be added to the AV-HRP diluent.]
Applications Reported
For research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. Avidin-HRP has been reported for use in immunoblotting (WB), immunohistochemical staining, and ELISA.
Applications Tested
This lot of AV-HRP has been tested by ELISA to detect biotinylated primary antibodies and is recommended to be diluted in ELISA Diluent Solution (cat.
00-4202) at 1:1000. The recommended dilution for use in Western Blot is 1:500-1:1000. It is recommended that this product be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest.
