Human PBMCs (300,000/well) in 100 ul complete RPMI medium were treated without (left) or with (right) Candida (100ug/mL) for 24 hrs in an IL-13 ELISPOT assay plate (pre-coated with functional grade PVM13-1 antibody).

Description

The PVM13-1 antibody reacts with human interleukin-13 (IL-13). IL-13, also known as NC30, is a 12.5 kDa protein secreted by activated T helper cells, CD8⁺ T cells, and NK cells. The biological activities of IL-13 include suppression of macrophage cytotoxic activity, upregulation of IL-1RA expression and suppression of inflammatory cytokine expression.

Applications Reported

For research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. The PVM13-1 antibody has been reported for use as the capture antibody in an IL-13 ELISPOT assay or ELISA, as well as for neutralization of IL-13 bioactivity.

Applications Tested

The functional grade PVM13-1 antibody has been tested for ELISA and ELISPOT capture and neutralization of IL-13 bioactivity. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest.
