Staining of BALB/c splenocytes with 0.125 μg of FG Purified Rat IgG2b Iso Cntrl (cat. 16-4331) (open histogram) or 0.125 μg of FG Purified anti-mouse Mouse MHC Class II (NIMR-4) (colored histogram) followed by FITC Anti-Rat IgG (cat. 11-4811). Cells in the lymphocyte gate were used for analysis.

Description

The monoclonal antibody NIMR-4 reacts specifically with a non-polymorphic I-A-encoded epitope on MHC Class II antigens. Class II antigens are predominantly expressed on antigen-presenting cells including B lymphocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells and certain epithelial cells. MHC Class II molecules are important for the selection of the TCR repertoire during the processes of positive and negative selection. MHC Class II expression is required for the positive selection of CD4+ T cells.

Applications Reported

For research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. This NIMR-4 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis. The Functional Grade NIMR-4 monoclonal antibody can be used in functional assays for complement-dependent cytotoxicity assays and for induction of apoptosis.

Applications Tested

This NIMR-4 antibody has been tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes. This can be used at less than or equal to 1 μg per million cells in a 100 μl total staining volume. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest.
