Contents: Recombinant human FGFa (FGF-acidic)
Catalog Number: 14-8987
Formulation: Sterile liquid; phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.2, 150 mM NaCl, with 1.0% BSA. 0.22 µm filtered.
Storage Conditions: For greatest stability, keep concentration of primary stock at or above 10 µg/ml. For long term storage, aliquot into polypropylene vials (volumes of 20 µl or greater) and store at or below -80°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Handling Conditions: For best recovery, always quick-spin vial prior to opening. For dilution of current stock, always include carrier protein (1% BSA or 10% FBS) in the buffered saline diluent.
Purity: Greater than 97%, as determined by SDS-PAGE
Endotoxin Level: Less than 0.01 ng/ug cytokine as determined by the LAL assay.
Bioactivity: Measured by mouse BALB/c 3T3 cell proliferation assay. The ED50 is typically 1 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 106 units/mg.

Description

Human Fibroblast Growth Factor-acidic (FGF-acidic) is a 16 kDa protein derived from such tissues as brain, kidney, adrenal glands, monocytes, and epithelial cells. FGF-acidic stimulates the growth of fibroblasts, myoblasts, osteoblasts, neuronal cells, endothelial cells, keratinocytes, chondrocytes, and many other cell types.

Applications Reported

For research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. Recombinant Human FGF acidic has been reported for use in cytokine bioassays, and ELISA.

Applications Tested

This reagent has been tested by bioassays using the FGF-acidic- responsive mouse BALB/c 3T3 cell line. The ED50, as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of 3T3 cell proliferation is 1 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 106 units/mg.
