Questions? Please consult our answers to frequently asked questions at http://www.ebioscience.com/faq. DescriptionMouse Granulocyte/Macrophage Colony Stimulating Factor (GM-CSF) is an ~14 kDa factor produced mainly by activated T cells and macrophages. Other cell types, such as endothelium and fibroblasts, also secrete GM-CSF in response to TNF-α, IL-2, IL-1, and IFN-γ. GM-CSF stimulates growth of macrophages, granulocytes and dendritic cells. GM-CSF is found as a membrane-bound form and also as a complex associated with the extracellular matrix. Non-glycosylated GM-CSF is biologically active. Applications ReportedFor research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. Recombinant mouse GM-CSF is biologically active and can promote proliferation of mouse MC/9 cells in culture. It is also used as a standard cytokine in mouse GM-CSF ELISA. Applications TestedThis reagent has been tested by sandwich ELISA using the anti-mouse GM-CSF antibody pair (MP1-22E9/MP1-31G6) and in bioassays using the mouse cell line MC/9. The ED50 measured in a MC/9 proliferation assay is typically 100 pg/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of approximately 1.0 x107 Units/mg.
