Human peripheral blood mononuclear cells were stimulated with LPS in the presence of Brefeldin A for 5 hours. The cells were intracellularly stained with anti-human IL-6 (MQ2-13A5) FITC (left) and with PE (right).

Description

The MQ2-13A5 antibody reacts with human interleukin-6 (IL-6), a 21-28 kDa cytokine secreted by a variety of cell types.

Applications Reported

For research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. The MQ2-13A5 antibody has been reported for use in capture of human IL-6 by ELISA, intracellular staining for flow cytometric analysis, and for neutralizing IL-6 bioactivity.

Applications Tested

The MQ2-13A5 antibody has been tested as the capture antibody in a sandwich ELISA for analysis of human Interleukin-6 (IL-6) in combination with the biotin MQ2-39C3 (13-7068) antibody for detection and recombinant human IL-6 (14-8069) as the standard. A suitable range of concentrations of this antibody for ELISA capture is 2-8 µg/ml. A standard curve consisting of doubling dilutions of the recombinant standard over the range of 1000 pg/ml - 8 pg/ml should be included in each ELISA plate.
