Description

The eB114 antibody reacts with the RASSF1A isoform of the tumor suppressor gene RASSF1. RASSF1A contains a Ras Association Domain (RA) and binds Ras in a GTP-dependent manner to effect apoptosis. The RASSF1A isoform undergoes epigenetic inactivation in a variety of human primary tumors. This has been associated with hypermethylation of a CpG island(s) in its promoter region. This antibody was generated against a synthetic peptide corresponding to the splice junction region of RASSF1A.

Applications Reported

For research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. The eB114 antibody has been reported for use in immunoprecipitation, and immunoblotting (WB).

Applications Tested

The eB114-10H1 has been tested by Western blotting and can be used at approximately 1-10 μg/ml. RASS1A is detected as a 45 kDa band in Western blotting of a HeLa cell extract. It is recommended that the reagent be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest.
