Description

The polyclonal antibody reacts with human FLIP; the antibody was raised against a peptide corresponding to the C-terminus amino acids 447 to 464 of human FLIPα/FLIPL form. There are four splice variants of Cellular FLIP (c-FLIP), FLICE-like inhibitory proteins, FLIPα, β, γ, and δ. FLIP is capable of protecting cells from death receptor-mediated apoptosis. FLIP proteins structurally resemble caspase-8 and contain two death effector domains. FLIPs are recruited to the death-inducing signaling complex and interact with adapter protein FADD, caspase-10 and caspase-8. FLIP is also known as I-FLICE, FLAME-1, CASH, CLARP and Casper.

Applications Reported

For research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. This polyclonal antibody has been reported for use in immunoblotting (WB).

Applications Tested

This polyclonal antibody has been used for immunoblotting (1:500-1:2000 dilution) of FLIP from HeLa and Jurkat cell lysate as a positive control. An approximately 55 kDa band can be detected. It is recommended that the reagent be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest.
