Description
The polyclonal antibody reacts with human, mouse, and rat Stat5a; the antibody has been generated against the C-terminus of human Stat5α. Stat5α protein is a transcription factor activated by hormones and cytokines. Two highly related, but distinct Stat5 genes (Stat5α and Stat5β) were identified in mouse. Stat5α is critically involved in a variety of physiological functions, including reproduction, lactation, immune function and somatic growth. Cross-reactivity with other species is not known. The molecular weight of Stat5α is 95 kDa.
Applications Reported
For research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. This polyclonal antibody has been reported for use in immunoblotting (WB), and immunohistochemical staining of paraffin embedded tissue sections.
Applications Tested
This polyclonal antibody has been tested by immunoblotting (WB) (5-10 μg/ml). A431 cells and tonsil cells can be used as positive controls. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest.
