Questions? Please consult our answers to frequently asked questions at http://www.ebioscience.com/faq. DescriptionThe polyclonal antibody reacts with human Stat1; the antibody was raised against the C-terminus of human Stat1, a transcription factor activated by peptide hormones, growth factors and cytokines, particularly cytokines of the interferon family. Stat1α (91 kDa) and Stat1β (84 kDa) isoforms arise by alternative splicing of a single gene. The only difference between these two isoforms is the absence of 38 amino acids on the C-terminus of Stat1β. Contained within these 38 C-terminal amino acids of Stat1α is a critical serine residue (Ser-727), whose phosphorylation is required for maximal transcription activity induced by IFN-γ. Cross-reactivity with other species is unknown. Applications ReportedFor research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. This polyclonal antibody has been reported for use in immunoprecipitation, and immunoblotting (WB). Applications TestedThis polyclonal antibody has been tested by immunoblotting (5 μg/ml). Jurkat, A431 and NIH3T3 cells can be used as positive controls. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest. References
