Description
The 1G8 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse ESAM (endothelial cell-selective adhesion molecule). ESAM is a 55-kDa membrane protein composed of 2 extracellular Ig domains, a single transmembrane domain, and a 120 amino acid cytoplasmic domain. ESAM is related to members of the junctional adhesion molecule (JAM) family, and is expressed on endothelial cells and activated platelets. ESAM at endothelial tight junctions plays a role in the regulation of vascular permeability, in response to agents such as VEGF or extravasating neutrophils.
Applications Reported
For research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. This 1G8 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis, immunoprecipitation, and immunohistology staining of frozen tissue sections.
Applications Tested
This 1G8 antibody has been tested by flow cytometric analysis of the bEnd.3 mouse endothelioma cell line. This can be used at less than or equal to 0.125 µg per 1 million cells in 100 µl total staining volume. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest.
