Immunoblotting of mouse thymus lysate from 108 cells/ml; probed with 1 ug/mL purified mFoxy and revealed with HRP anti-mouse IgG. FoxP3 is detected at ~50 kDa.

Description

The mFOXY antibody reacts with mouse Foxp3 also known as FORKHEAD BOX P3, SCURFIN, and JM2; cross reactivity of this antibody to other proteins have not been determined. The foxp3 gene was identified as the gene defective in 'scurfy' (sf) mice. Foxp3, a 49-55 Kda molecule, is a member of the forkhead/winged-helix family of transcriptional regulators and is highly conserved in humans. Recently, constitutive high expression of Foxp3 mRNA has been shown in CD4-positive/CD25-positive regulatory T cells (Treg cells). Transduced expression of Foxp3 in CD4-positive/CD25-negative cells imparted a Treg phenotype in these cells, with low levels of cytokine expression. It has been proposed that Foxp3 may be a master regulatory gene and a marker for Treg cells. Recent reports also suggest expression of Foxp3 on a subpopulation of rat CD8+ cells.

Applications Reported

For research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. This mFOXY antibody has been reported for use in immunoblotting (WB).

Applications Tested

The mFOXY antibody has been tested by immunoblotting (WB) of mouse thymocyte lysate (1-5 ug/ml).
