Questions? Please consult our answers to frequently asked questions at http://www.ebioscience.com/faq. DescriptionThe R22/7 monoclonal antibody reacts with the amino terminus of human CCR5 (CD195), an approximately 45 kDa member of the G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) superfamily that binds chemokines including MIP-1a, MIP-1ß and RANTES. Human CCR5 is expressed on resting T cells with a memory/effector phenotype, monocytes, macrophages and immature dendritic cells. CCR5 functions as a receptor to direct the chemotaxis of lymphocytes, and is the primary co-receptor for macrophage-tropic Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 (HIV-1), which binds CCR5 through gp120. Applications ReportedFor research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. The R22/7 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis, immunoprecipitation, immunoblotting (WB), and ELISA. Applications TestedThis R22/7 antibody has been tested by flow cytometric analysis of human peripheral blood leukocytes. This can be used at less than or equal to 1 μg per 100 μl blood (or per 1 million cells in 100 μl total staining volume). It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest. Special Notes
R22/7 stains with lower intensity on human peripheral blood mononuclear cells, than on human lysed whole blood. For staining human peripheral blood mononuclear cells, we recommend the use of clone eBioT21/8 (cat. 1957). References
