Description

The RM153 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD153 (CD30 ligand). This 40 kDa cell surface receptor, a type II transmembrane protein, is a member of the TNF superfamily. Interaction of CD30 with CD153 plays an important role in T cell activation/costimulation. Expression of CD153 on T cells does not appear to require costimulation through CD28 and is upregulated via TCR engagement and peaks 24-48 hours after activation. Signaling through CD153 is important in costimulation of pre-activated T cells.

Applications Reported

For research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. The RM153 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis, immunoprecipitation, and immunohistochemical staining of frozen tissue sections. It has also been reported in blocking of ligand binding. (Please use Functional Grade purified RM153, cat. 16-1531, in functional assays.)

Applications Tested

The RM153 antibody has been tested by flow cytometric analysis of activated mouse splenocyte suspensions. This can be used at less than or equal to 0.5 μg per million cells in a 100 μl total staining volume. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest.
