Staining of C57Bl/6 splenocytes with 0.06 μg Purified Rat IgG1 Iso Cntrl (cat. 14-4301) (open histogram) or 0.06 μg Purified anti-mouse CD90 (G7) (colored histogram) followed by FITC Anti-Rat IgG (cat. 11-4811). Total viable cells were used for analysis.

Description

The G7 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD90 also known as Thy-1, a GPI-linked membrane molecule. CD90 is expressed by early hematopoietic cells in the bone marrow, thymocytes and mature T cells as well as neurons. CD90 is involved in regulation of adhesion and signal transduction by T cells. G7 is reported to induce TCR-mediated proliferation of T cell and apoptosis of thymocytes.

Applications Reported

For research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. The G7 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis, and immunohistochemical staining. G7 has also been reported in functional studies. (Please use Functional Grade purified G7, cat. 16-0901, in functional assays.)

Applications Tested

The G7 antibody has been tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocyte suspensions and can be used at less than or equal to 0.125 µg/million cells. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest.
