Surface staining of normal human peripheral blood cells with anti-human CD79b (SN8) PE. Appropriate isotype controls were used (open histogram). Cells in the lymphocyte population were used for analysis.

Description

The SN8 monoclonal antiobdy reacts with human CD79b, also known as IgB. CD79b and CD79a non-covalently associate with surface immunoglobulin to form the BCR. CD79b is required for the expression and signaling of BCR. CD79b is expressed on the surface of sIg-positive B cells.

Applications Reported

For research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. The SN8 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested

The SN8 antibody has been tested by flow cytometric analysis of human peripheral blood leukocytes. This can be used at less than or equal to 1 μg per 100 μl blood (or per 1 million cells in 100 μl total staining volume). It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest.
