Description

The DJR4-1 monoclonal antibody reacts with human Decoy receptor 2 (DcR2), a transmembrane cell surface protein also known as TRAIL-R4 and TRUNDD. DcR2 has an extracellular TRAIL binding domain and a truncation in the death domain (DD) of its cytoplasmic tail. Along with DcR1, DcR2 binds to TRAIL and inhibits binding of TRAIL to DR4 or DR5 protecting cells from TRAIL-mediated cytotoxicity. DcR2 is expressed in many normal human tissues at low levels, but not in most tumors. Overexpression of DcR2 attenuates TRAIL-induced apoptosis.

Applications Reported

For research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. The DJR4-1 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested

The DJR4-1 antibody has been tested by flow cytometric analysis of DcR2/293 transient transfected cells. This can be used at less than or equal to 1 μg per million cells in a 100 μl total staining volume. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest.
