Human peripheral blood mononuclear cells were stimulated with LPS in the presence of Brefeldin A for 4 hours. (Left) The cells were surface stained with PE anti-human CD14 (61D3) and intracellularly stained with FITC anti-human IL-1b (CRM56). Description

The CRM56 antibody reacts with human and baboon interleukin-1β (IL-1β). IL-1β is a 17 kDa factor secreted primarily by monocytes. IL-1 has effects on T-helper cells, inducing IL-2 secretion and expression of IL-2 receptors. IL-1 has effects on B cells, promoting cell proliferation and immunoglobulin synthesis.

Applications Reported

For research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. The CRM56 antibody has been reported for use in intracellular flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested

The fluorochrome-conjugated CRM56 antibody has been tested by intracellular staining and flow cytometric analysis of LPS-activated, fixed/permeabilized human peripheral blood mononuclear cells. A recommended range of antibody concentrations for optimal staining is 0.05 - 0.5 ug antibody (or 20 ul of prediluted '25 test' reagents) per 1 million cells in 100 ul staining volume. Please see the eBioscience intracellular staining protocol for further information. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest.
