Questions? Please consult our answers to frequently asked questions at http://www.ebioscience.com/faq. DescriptionThe V14/2 monoclonal antibody is specific for the human CCR5, a member of the G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) superfamily. CCR5 serves as the main coreceptor for the entry of R5 tropic strains of human immunodeficiency viruses (HIV) and is involved in the activation and migration of human leukocytes. Binding of RANTES/CCL5 to CCR5 induces protein phosphorylation mediated by protein kinase C (PKC) and GPCR kinase (GRK). These three antibodies are specific for different epitopes on the human CCR5 and recognize either activated phosphorylated epitopes or epitopes on the resting CCR5 molecules and are useful tools to study the expression and function of human CCR5. Applications ReportedFor research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. The V14/2 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis. Applications TestedThe V14/2 antibody has been pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of human peripheral blood leukocytes. This can be used at 20 μl per 100 μl blood (or per 1 million cells in 100 μl total staining volume).
