Description

The eBioSN2 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD165 (AD2, gp37). Human CD165 is a 37 kDa protein, which is thought to play a role in mediating adhesive interactions between thymocytes and epithelial cells in the thymus. CD165 was initially characterized as an antigenic marker of human T cell leukemias, and the SN2 monoclonal antibody was used to create immunotoxins capable of killing CD165-expressing cells. CD165 is expressed at low levels on all T cells, but at high levels on CD4-CD8- (double-negative) and CD4+CD8+ (double-positive) T cells in the thymus. Furthermore, CD165 is expressed by monocytes, platelets and mesothelial cells, and expression has been detected in islet cells of the pancreas, Bowman’s capsule of the kidney and, on central nervous system neurons. It is thought that CD165 and TALLA-1 represent the same antigen.

Applications Reported

For research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. This eBioSN2 (SN2 N6-D11) antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested

This eBioSN2 (SN2 N6-D11) antibody has been tested by flow cytometric analysis of Jurkat cells and normal human peripheral blood cells. This can be used at less than or equal to 0.125 μg per 100 μl blood (or per 1 million cells in 100 μl total staining volume). It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest.
