The fluorochrome conjugated antigen-affinity purified polyclonal rabbit antibody reacts with mouse interleukin-1β (IL-1β), a 17 kDa factor secreted primarily by monocytes. IL-1 has effects on T-helper cells, inducing IL-2 secretion and expression of IL-2 receptors. IL-1 has effects on B cells, promoting cell proliferation and immunoglobulin synthesis.

For research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. This Polyclonal antibody has been reported for use in intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested

This Polyclonal antibody has been tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse thioglycolate-induced peritoneal-exudate cells. This can be used at 20 μl (0.25 μg) per million cells in a 100 μl total staining volume. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest.
