Description

Streptavidin binds to biotin with high affinity. Fluorochrome-conjugated Streptavidin is commonly used in indirect staining protocols to detect biotinylated primary antibodies in flow cytometry. SAV-FITC is excited at 450-495 nm and emits its fluorescence at ~520 nm.

Applications Reported

For research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. Streptavidin-FITC has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested

This lot of SAV-FITC has been tested by flow cytometric analysis to detect biotinylated primary antibodies and can be used at less than or equal to 0.125 μg/million cells. It is recommended that this reagent be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest.
