Staining of normal human peripheral blood cells with AlexaFluor647 anti-human CD244 (cat. 51-5837) and 0.06 μg of FITC Mouse IgG1, K Iso Cntrl (cat. 11-4714) (left) or 0.06 μg of FITC anti-human CD226 (11A8) (right). Total viable cells were used for analysis.

Description

The monoclonal antibody 11A8 reacts to CD226 also known as DNAM-1, a 65kDa protein expressed on both NK cells, the majority of cytolytic T cells, monocytes, platelets, and minor subset of B cells. The ligands for CD226 are the poliovirus receptor (PVR, CD155) and Poliovirus Related Receptor (PPR2, Nectin-2, CD112). CD226 is involved in cytolytic activity by interacting with integrins and activating protein tyrosine kinase Fyn. Addition of 11A8 antibody augments lytic activity.

Applications Reported

For research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. This 11A8 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested

This 11A8 antibody has been pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells. This can be used at 20 μl (0.06 μg) per million cells in a 100 μl total staining volume.
