Description

The eBioH4B4 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD107b, also known as LAMP-2 (lysosomal-associated membrane protein 2). CD107b, an approximately 105 kDa type I transmembrane protein, is highly glycosylated, and along with LAMP-1 (CD107a) is estimated to contribute to approximately 50% of all proteins of the lysosomal membrane. CD107b is expressed intracellularly on many cell types, and on the surface of activated platelets and T cells, as well as some cancer cells. Genetic deficiency of both CD107a and CD107b results in embryonic lethality. Loss of either CD107a or CD107b alone is not embryonic lethal, however the loss of CD107b causes a more severe phenotype. In humans, mutations in CD107b results in a lysosomal glycogen storage disorder, known as Danon disease.

Applications Reported

For research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use. This eBioH4B4 (H4B4) antibody has been reported for use in intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested

This eBioH4B4 (H4B4) antibody has been pre-titrated and tested by intracellular staining and flow cytometric analysis of Jurkat cells. This can be used at 20 μl (0.25 μg) per 100 μl blood (or per 1 million cells in 100 μl total staining volume).
