Neuronal Stem Cells

Neural stem cells (NSCs) have the ability to self-renew and are multi-potent cells that differentiate into various cell types of the nervous system such as neurons, astrocytes, and oligodendrocytes. NSCs are of great interest because of their potential to treat many of the neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson’s disease. The thought is that they have the potential to rebuild the damaged neural tissue and thus restore function. eBioscience offers a range of products that allow for the expression of various neural stem cell markers including CD133, Nestin, Musashi, SSEA proteins, and Oct 4.
