Mesenchymal Stem Cells

Mesenchymal stem cells are found in the bone marrow as well as other tissues. They can differentiate into a number of cell types that include fat cells (adipocytes), bone cells (osteocytes), cartilage (chondrocytes), tendon, ligaments, muscle cells and skin cells. Mesenchymal stem cells can be maintained and propagated in culture for long periods without losing their capacity to form other cell types. This allows for a small sample of bone marrow to give rise to a large amount of stem cells though expansion in culture. eBioscience offers a range of products that allow for the expression of various mesenchymal stem cell markers including Endoglin (CD105), Integrin alpha V (CD51), CD44, and Ly-6A/E (Sca-1).
