BrdU Staining Kits for Flow Cytometry
Incorporate Proliferation Analysis
The immunofluorescent staining of incorporated 5-bromo-2’-deoxyuridine (BrdU), a synthetic nucleoside analog of thymidine, and flow cytometric analysis allow for detection of actively cycling cell fractions. BrdU is incorporated into newly synthesized genomic DNA during the S-phase of mitosis. BrdU is then stained with specific Anti-BrdU (clone Bu20A) fluorescently-labeled antibody and analyzed. The BrdU staining kits offer a simple, robust and flexible means to incorporate proliferation analysis into current immunophenotyping experiments.

Following the protocol provided in the BrdU Staining Kit for Flow Cytometry in the FITC format (cat. no. 8811-6600), CD3/CD28-stimulated mouse splenocytes are unlabeled (left) or labeled with BrdU (right) and stained with Anti-BrdU and Anti-Mouse CD4 APC (cat. no. 17-0041). Total viable cells were used for analysis.
