eBioscience Supports Light The Night Walk

Benefitting Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

October 24, 2011 – San Diego, CA – eBioscience has teamed up with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) to join in the fight against cancer by supporting the Light The Night Walk. In addition to sponsoring the Walk, the company formed a team, Team eBioscience, which will participate in the Walk on November 4th, 2011 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in San Diego, California.

LLS is the world's largest nonprofit health organization. Dedicated to funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services, LLS’s mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. The Light The Night Walk is one of LLS’s main fundraising campaigns in which communities across the United States and Canada come together to bring hope to those battling blood cancers.

“We are thrilled to be involved and give back to our local community,” said Don Tartre, eBioscience CEO, when announcing the company’s partnership with LLS.  A portion of the funds raised for the Walk are used to support leading researchers who work to cure blood cancers. Tartre emphasized, “Our clinical portfolio now offers over 80% of the current leukemia and lymphoma market need.  With both our product offering and volunteering together with LLS, we can make a significant impact on finding cancer cures.” Currently among the top ten fundraising teams, Team eBioscience has already surpassed their fundraising goal. “Fundraising for the Light The Night Walk has strengthened the camaraderie within our company. It is inspiring to team up with colleagues and work together to raise money for this wonderful cause,” said Robin Vedova, eBioscience Vice President of HR.
